About Us

Lightrus is a Design & Prototyping Consultancy.

Our multidisciplinary team work with you from design to physical prototyping using Light Gauge steel (LGS). We are Singapore-based  and fabricates permanentsemi-permanent or temporary ultra-lightweight steel structures.

Our structural system is up to 5 times lighter than reinforced concrete (RC) and masonry. This allows us to design ultra-light buildings which will help you save costs on foundation works or to build in areas with poor soil conditions. Our steel frames are custom manufactured in Singapore to ensure fast response to customers’ needs and specifications.

Trained in DfMA and VDC, we combine digital technology and design to develop lighter and faster design options with consultants that are more cost-effective for many applications.

HDB – Next Generation Roofing System

We are the design & research partner for the Next Generation Roofing System for Public Housing project by HDB. This is a Co-Innovation Partnership Project led by HDB for the Singapore Government and local companies to co-develop a new urban roofing system that is solar-ready.

PPVC & Off-site Manufacturing

Working together with global modular experts and local consultants, we have developed a highly flexible steel PPVC module for low-rise applications such as landed housing, shophouses and small commercial buildings. It is also be suitable for minor A&A works such as annex buildings and extensions.

Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility

In collaboration with solar panel manufacturers, we have developed a modular pod structure that can be deployed quickly for disaster relief missions or working/living spaces in remote areas.

We have also developed a Low Cost Housing System with Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Centre of Innovation Marine & Offshore Technology. This enables rapid deployment with simple hand tools for rural construction or disaster relief programs

Together with Pomeroy Studio, we converted the roof terrace of National Design Centre into an eco-friendly solar roof during the Design Green! event.
